Despite these startling statistics, there is relatively low funding for autism advocacy and research when compared with other childhood diseases. That's why we are working to spread autism awareness by participating in the worldwide Autism Awareness Day this Monday, April 2nd, sponsored by Autism Speaks. The theme for the day is "light it up blue" for autism awareness, so we encourage everyone to wear blue on Monday.
