Each year, our graduating
seniors score well above the national average on exams that measure content-related
knowledge. In 2015 our seniors scored in the 72nd percentile on the PACAT
exam, while the national average of over 5,000 students was the 50th
percentile.

Psychology Fast Fact
Psychology students at Ashland University complete internships at organizations including hospitals, women's shelters, mental health clinics, schools for children with developmental disabilities, and drug/alcohol rehabilitation centers. Psychology Fast Fact
Each year psychology students present their research at conferences in places such as Chicago, Philadelphia, and New York City. In the past ten years, psychology students have made 41 presentations at local conferences, 38 presentations at regional conferences, and 4 presentations at national conferences.

AU Psychology Fast Fact #7
Psychology majors have the opportunity to complete internships for course credit through our PSYC 393/493 courses. In recent years our students have done internships at mental health centers, county agencies, abused women shelters, children's camps, hospitals, and schools for children with developmental disabilities.

Based on the most recent data provided by the Ashland University Office of Institutional Research, students in the last four graduating classes of psychology majors (a total of 39 students) completed their degrees in an average of 8.07 semesters. In a time where the cost of higher education is a concern for many, this is proof that the vast majority of our majors graduate in four years.

The Psychology Department at Ashland University has seen tremendous growth over the past ten years. Since the 2002-2003 academic year, the number of students majoring in psychology has increased by 41% and the department has seen a 50% increase in the number of full time faculty.
