Students Receive Grant for Conference Travel
Congratulations to the AU Psychology majors who were awarded a $2400 grant from the Ashland University Provost to present their research at the annual meeting of the Midwestern Psychological Association (MPA) in Chicago! On Thursday, May 5th, thirteen psychology students will present research that they conducted in their advanced research courses or by serving as a research assistant for faculty members within the department. This grant, which was approved by the Ashland University Academic Council, will help the students cover the cost of conference registration, travel, lodging, and meals. The MPA is one of the largest psychological organizations, with more than 2000 members worldwide. According to the MPA website, "a recent survey showed attendance at our meeting from 39 states, the District of Columbia, and 3 foreign countries. The registrants came from 250 universities and colleges (including 92 outside the Midwest) and 70 other organizations."
