Using Mad Cow Disease to search for neurological clues...

Research recently published in the journal Science suggests that an understanding of "Mad Cow Disease" may hold the key to better understanding more common neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Diseases.  Mad Cow Disease is the common name given to a variant of Creutzfelt-Jakob Disease, which is a rare disorder in humans.  This is an especially aggressive disease that progresses quickly over a 3-4 month period, leaving holes in the brains of those who contract it.  Additional information about  this new research can be found at the Wall Street Journal by clicking HERE.
