Dr. Lisa Christian Named as Spring Colloquium Speaker

The Psychology Department is pleased to announce that Dr. Lisa Christian will deliver the Psychology Spring Colloquium this year.  Dr. Christian completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri before earning her Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Clinical Psychology from The Ohio State University.  After completing her degrees, she returned to OSU in 2008 as a member of the Institute for Behavioral Medicine Research as a clinical health psychologist.  She currently holds appointments an Assistant Professor of Psychology, Psychiatry, and Obstetrics/Gynecology at OSU, and her main area of research is in stress and immune responses.  Dr. Christian's talk will likely focus on psychosocial stress and inflammation in pregnancy, with discussion of serum inflammatory markers, inflammatory responses to biological challenge, and inflammatory responses to acute stress in pregnant women.  The colloquium will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 18, 2014.  Mark your calendars for this event!
