Internship Opportunity at Three C Counseling, LLC

Tim Batdorf, AU Psychology ’08 alum and Director of Operations for Three C Counseling, LLC in Mansfield, recently contacted our department to announce an internship opportunity for Ashland University psychology students.  Planned to begin in January of 2013, a semester-long internship would be available to qualified students, who would also be paid $500 for the internship.  The requirements for consideration are for the student to be (1) at least 21 years of age, (2) a psychology major, and (3) be in good academic standing.  As part of the internship, the approved student would be trained to obtain their CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant) certificate.  This opportunity would expose the student to the field of drug and alcohol abuse counseling, and allow them to gain much needed experience in the field.   Students would be trained in assessment, individual counseling, group counseling, crisis interventions, family sessions, billing, curriculum development, and case management.  In addition, Three C Counseling, LLC will cover the cost of obtaining the CDCA, which is valid for two years and can be renewed with 40 continuing education hours.  Interested students should contact Dr. Metzger by Monday, October 1 to be considered for this internship.
