Dr. Mark Stambush to Deliver Guest Lecture

The Department of Psychology is pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Stambush, Assistant Professor of Psychology at Muskingum University (New Concord, OH), will be delivering a guest lecture titled "Shedding the Pounds but Not the Stigma" on Thursday, March 22 at 4:30pm in the Ronk Lecture Hall.  Dr. Stambush's talk will focus on his research examining how the stereotypes and stigma associated with being overweight are not necessarily eliminated after weight loss -- instead, the method by which individuals lose weight is largely predictive of whether formerly overweight individuals are still subject to these negative attributions.

Dr. Stambush earned his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Saint Louis University, and he has published multiple research articles on attitudes, stereotypes, and stigma.

The Department of Psychology encourages students and faculty to attend what is sure to be an exciting and interesting research talk.
